Could They Be The Ones?
February 25, 2008 by Sara
Our agency posted a slide-show of all their photographs from their recent trip to Ethiopia. Each agency works with particular orphanages–and these are from those that our agency works with. So I emailed Lisa, our contact there, to ask if by any chance the children in the photographs would be ones up for adoption. (ie. Could any of these girls be our girls?). Her response: Yes, some of the children pictured will be up for adoption through Carolina Hope.
WHAT?!?!?!
My heart literally is racing and I read the email 30 minutes ago. I’ve been scouring through the pictures, wondering if any of those sets of almond eyes will be ones who will look at me one day as their mom. . . thinking maybe one face will stand out to me and I’ll later look back and know that God was highlighting that face as our soon-to-be-daughter.
This is a very odd sort of game of Where’s Waldo … except this time it’s not a red-striped scarf wearing man hidden in the crowd of hundreds . . . it could be my daughter!
If you want to ogle these beautiful faces wondering which ones may someday be a Hagerty, you can check out the slide show entitled “Ethiopia” on the Carolina Hope Agency blog.

Hagertys-
thanks for the link to the Ethiopia slideshow! It was awesome to watch-heartbreaking and encouraging all at same time!! We’ll pray that your girls are in one of those pictures. =) Love you guys…
Wow! Your post made me all teary-eyed! I hope there is a new Hagerty in those photos!
Jon and I are awed by your courage and so very excited for you. The pictures were beautiful and a testimony to God’s miraculous hand at work in the lives of His little ones. We thank you and Nate for doing the Lord’s will and choosing to care for these children. God Bless!
Hi! We are also with Carolina Hope…waiting along with you all. I keep checking your blog to see if you’ve heard any news before we have. How much longer do you think it will be?? We just got started a month or two ago, and are done with our dossier for the most part! Thanks for sharing your experience!
